Introducing An Intimate Setting, With Care That Goes Further

Dominion Homecare Assisted Living is a licensed assisted living home on a quiet residential street in North Laurel, Maryland. It is an intimate setting, which is the whole point.

Our staff know every resident by name, notice when someone is quieter than usual, and have the time to sit down. Meals are cooked in the kitchen and eaten together. There is someone awake in the house through the night, every night.

We are licensed at Level 3, the highest of Maryland’s three assisted living levels, and we are approved to care for residents receiving hospice. Together those mean your loved one can move in needing very little from us, and remain here as their needs change.

WHAT WE DO The Care We Provide

Families rarely know what level of care they will need in two years. That is the point of a Level 3 home. You are not making a decision you will have to unmake.

COMMITMENT Why Families ChooseUs

Most families have to move a parent twice. The first move happens when help is needed with bathing, dressing or medication. The second happens a year or two later, when the care needed goes beyond what that home is licensed to give. The second move is the hard one. Your loved one is frailer, more confused by the change, and the family is deciding under pressure

What It Costs

Most homes will not tell you this until you call. We would rather you knew before you drove over.

Rooms at Dominion start at $3,500 a month. The final figure depends on two things, whether your loved one is in a private or a shared room, and how much daily help they need. We will give you the exact number on the phone in the first two minutes.

What that figure covers matters as much as the figure itself.

Every rate includes the room, all meals and snacks, laundry, bathing and dressing, medication management, housekeeping, and daily activities. It also includes awake overnight staff and a delegating nurse on call.

Two things are billed separately or provided by the family. Incontinence supplies and transport.

We are a private pay home. We do not accept Medicaid, long term care insurance, or VA benefits. Payment is by Zelle or money order, with a $500 deposit at move in.

If you would like the exact figure for your loved one, call 240-360-5755 and ask. There is no form to fill in first.

Five Questions to Ask Any Home You Visit

Whether you choose us or somewhere else, these five questions will tell you more than any brochure.

  • What level are you licensed for, and what happens if we need more care than that?
  • Can you keep a resident who goes onto hospice, or would we have to move?
  • Is someone awake in the house overnight, or asleep on call?
  • How many residents live here, and how many staff are on at one time?
  • Who holds the license, and are they here day to day?

Our answers are Level 3, yes we can keep them, awake every night, an intimate setting with a staff member on duty on every shift, and the licensed manager is here day to day.
